Day 1 is theory: the history of DJing, the club scene, DJ Matthew Bee's own experience and audio basics, before moving into practical DJ theory. Day 2 is practice: mixing, recording your first mix, publishing it and a professional photoshoot, with 1 to 3 guest speakers.

Day 2

Practice and your promo mix

  1. Mixing and recording your first mix
  2. Publishing the mix on your own Mixcloud profile
  3. Professional photography to start your DJ career
  4. 1 to 3 guest speakers
  5. You leave as a branded DJ, with your own name and mix

Do I need prior experience?

No. The workshop suits beginners as well as DJs who want to hear DJ Matthew Bee's experience first-hand.

How many students are in a group?

At most three, so every student gets proper attention.

What gear do we use?

Each student works hands-on with several kinds of professional DJ gear: turntables, CDJ 350 and the RX3 controller, through to the CDJ 2000 NX2.

What do I get at the end?

A recorded promo mix on your own Mixcloud profile and professional photography to start your DJ career. Top students get a gig at Split venues and a B2B set with Matthew Bee.

Can the workshop run in English?

Yes, if the group is from an English-speaking background.
